AN ENCHANTING HALLOWEEN TABLE

Hello everyone! As I’m preparing for my Halloween dinner party this evening, I thought I would share my table decoration with you all. If you’re hosting a party this Saturday, it might just spark a few ideas that you too can apply to your table…

This is not your typical Halloween-themed table, smothered in black or haunted by ghouls! Instead I’ve opted for a more tasteful setting to celebrate the witching hour in style. My inspiration stems from spell books, potions and an apothecary-type feel which I’ve tried to capture in an enchanting table centrepiece.

When I think of witchcraft and cauldrons bubbling, I picture a dense thick woodland as the perfect spooky backdrop! So you might have also spotted a definite botanical vibe going on…

For the napkins, I bought some black ones specially and very simply styled them to form a little point before inserting them into the glasses. They look a little bit like witches hats…

Ultimately though, my apothecary themed table wouldn’t be complete without an apothecary jar or potion! I very quickly made mine using an empty jar, and then gluing on a spooky vintage label which I found online. For the liquid potion, I simply boiled some tea to turn my water brown! Putting in the extra effort and creating these extra little touches will make all the difference – guests really notice and comment on these quirks…

As the theme is all about spells and potion-making, I’ve thrown in a few random objects as if they’re potion ingredients. Check out the half gold pineapple next to the spell books…

Look at those adorable little pumpkins I found in my local supermarket – they really pop against all the gold!

And there you have it! An apothecary themed table ready for some spells: ‘Double, double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble.’ Happy Halloween everyone!
